Climate change and water shortage emerged as the top issue with the greatest impact on Asia, according to a survey of business leaders by the World Economic Forum. A survey conducted at the end of the two-day summit showed that an overwhelming 81% of the 55 business leaders voted for “addressing growing global concern over environmental challenges such as climate change and water” as the top choice of issues with potential impact on Asia. Food, fuel and finance also dominated the closing discussions. The programme of the summit was structured around ‘A world of uncertainties‘ and how East Asia should respond to these new uncertainties. BT featured on the main programme, represented by Shiva Singh, Managing Director South East Asia, where he spoke at a session entitled “The challenge of a Networked World”.
